Annual Membership Meeting

The MEBFC conducted its 2020 Annual Membership meeting on Friday, September 18, 2020. Due to COVID-19 and allowing for social distancing there was limited in-person attendance with a Zoom component.

We were honored to have Kathryn Bakich of the Segal Company return as our featured speaker. Kathy provided an excellent presentation "ACA, HIPAA and Health Care in a Post-COVID World."

We thank our current Coalition Officers for their willingness to extend their service until October 1, 2020, when the officers elected at the Annual Meeting will start their term.

The Officers whose term expires September 30, 2020 are:

  • Chair - Thomas Bernstein, Midwest Operating Engineers Welfare Fund

  • Vice-Chair - Sherryl Reeves, Beer Industry Local 703 Health and Welfare Fund

  • Secretary - Richard Clarson, Teamsters Local 731 Health and Welfare Fund

  • Treasurer - Kevin Schell, Sheet Metal Workers Local 265 Health and Welfare Fund

We congratulate the newly elected officers who will serve from October 1, 2020 until April 30, 2022:
  • Chair - Cathy Wenskus, Chicago Laborers Health and Welfare Fund

  • Vice-Chair - Thomas Bernstein, Midwest Operating Engineers Welfare Fund

  • Secretary - Carrie Gath, I.U.O.E. Local 399 Health and Welfare Fund

  • Treasurer - Gerry Slowiak - Painters D.C. 30 Health and Welfare Fund


Board of Directors

The Board of Directors generally meet on a quarterly basis.

The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

The meeting will be a joint in-person and Zoom meeting.

Directors should RSVP their attendance and method of participation.


Committees

The committees meet as frequently as needed - as determined by the committee.

The Member Services committee is planning to meet via Zoom in late October 2020.


The Provider Relations Committee is condisering its next meeting date. It will likely be the end of October via Zoom.


The Personnel Committee will meet as a combined group of incoming and outgoing officers as well as the committee members at large. The meeting will occur via Zoom and will be scheduled for early October.
